Made in Scotland, where the softness of the water is reputed to make the cashmere especially soft, our throws are classed as slight seconds. Sometimes the throw is simply non-standard, and the fault barely detectible. Please ask for details of individual throws.
Our throws measure 190-200cms plus fringe x 140-150cms approximately - large and soft enough for extra warmth at night, or to wrap right around you when relaxing. Price depends on fault, but is from about £170 - £220 each.
Colours vary regularly, so please let us know if there is something you are looking for and we will do our best to find it for you!
The Cashmere goat may produce only about 4-6 ounces of the softest underdown each year, which is one reason that it is so highly sought after. But the main reason is that it has such special qualities. Extremely warm, to protect goats from harsh conditions, the fibres are also incredibly soft and fine – finer than the finest wool, and many times finer than human hair, so that they drape beautifully. The fibres also have natural ‘loft’, meaning that they do not easily go flat, and a high moisture content that allows insulation properties to change with the relative humidity in the air. All this means that cashmere is a wonderful fibre , to keep you comfortably warm without a feeling of weight.
